Scott P. Carness
Scott P. Carness is a 1993 graduate of the University of California
with a degree in neurosciences. Following graduation Mr. Carness
began working as a paralegal and in 1997 was admitted to the
Rule 6 Law Clerk Program. In 2002, Mr. Carness was admitted to
practice law in the State of Washington.
Mr. Carness has over 13 years experience representing injury victims
as an attorney, licensed intern, and paralegal. Mr. Carness is
an Eagle Member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association
(WSTLA), Snohomish County Bar Association, and serves on the Editorial
Board of the Washington State "Trial News." He is the
current chair of WSTLA's Snohomish County
Roundtable. Mr. Carness is admitted to practice in all Washington
State
Courts.
In his spare time, Mr. Carness enjoys his family, fishing, and
playing guitar.
David
B. Stevens
David B. Stevens is admitted to practice law in Washington,
Alaska and Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy
from Drake University in 1964 and practiced
full time as a Registered Pharmacist until his acceptance to Law
School in 1968. Mr. Stevens graduated from Drake University School
of Law and was admitted to practice in 1971. For the next two
years, Mr. Stevens represented indigent clients through the Polk
County Legal Aid Society. In 1974, he founded the six attorney
law firm of Stevens, Price & Fultz. Mr. Stevens semi-retired
in 1981 and relocated to Seattle.
Mr. Stevens was admitted to practice in Washington in 1981 and
set up private practice in Seattle. Since 1983, Mr. Stevens has
focused his practice on Personal Injury Law and has assisted clients
in securing significant resolutions of their claims. Mr. Stevens
joined the Donchez Law Firm in 2003 as "of counsel" to
the firm where he continues to assist injury victims secure just
compensation.
Mr. Stevens is also admitted to practice in the United States
Tax Court, the United States Court of Claims, United States Court
of Appeals, and Federal Courts in the Northern District and Southern
District of Iowa, as well as the Western District of Washington.
Mr. Stevens has served the community since 1992 through volunteer
work at Children’s Hospital in Seattle. In 2002, Mr. Stevens
funded an endowment to provide research and medical care for children
suffering Traumatic Brain Injuries.
Lauren J. King, D.C.
Medical-Legal Director, Lauren J. King, D.C., F.A.C.O., C.I.C.E.,
brings over 30 years of clinical experience in treating injury
victims to the Donchez Law Firm. A 1973 graduate of Palmer Chiropractic
College, Dr. King is also Board Certified in Chiropractic Orthopedics.
Dr. King has an extensive background in AMA Impairment rating examinations
as well as being a consultant for the Washington State Department
of Labor & Industries.
Dr. King’s wealth of knowledge assists us in reviewing medical
negligence and injury cases. She supports our attorneys and staff
in analyzing complex medical records. Dr. King attends insurance
medical examinations with our clients so they have an experienced
advocate with them at all times. Dr. King’s experience and
background help us in ensuring that insurance company examinations
are done properly.
